Auburn Needs Help from our Section with AU BSCI Disaster Recovery Service-Learning Course being held this Spring 2019

January 14, 2019

Auburn University is hosting a course in Disaster Recovery Service and needs your help.  If you can help in any of the ways listed below, please contact Lauren Redden with Auburn University:   office 334.844.5341| wybenlm@auburn.edu; cell 334.233.0181

Any help they can get for the students will be greatly appreciated.

Deadlines on the different opportunities which they need help with are listed below–

The opportunity to engage in the classroom would be now through end of February. We have class every Wednesday noon – 12:50pm central time. So between now and Feb 28 on a Wednesday is when I was hoping to have our students engage with a company or two to cover topics related to preparing/planning for hurricanes as well as surveying damage, scopes performed after damage has occurred, etc. I am open to the specific topic covered and can work with companies on topics they would be interested in covering related to disaster relief/recovery.

If anyone is interested in supporting the trip with a donation / financially, the deadline is end of this month (Jan 31). Contact Dara Hosey dara@auburn.edu and Lauren Redden wybenlm@auburn.edu via email if you are interested in supporting students with a financial gift.

The trip is actually occurring March 7-13, so if one or two companies would host us for a dinner or one company host us on a jobsite tour I would like to have that commitment finalized by Jan 31 (with final details being able to linger until end of Feb).
