Thomas Clough Obituary

Thomas Harold Clough

November 12, 1987 – May 10, 2024

United States Marine, Thomas Harold Clough, an exuberant husband, father, son, brother, and friend sadly left this world suddenly on 5/10/2024 at the age of 36. Thomas was a resident of Dauphin Island, Alabama.

Thomas was born to Thomas Clough and Susan Spikes Lee on 11/12/1987. He was a 2006 graduate of Murphy High School, where he played football and met his high school sweetheart Meagan Dixon Clough. Thomas and Meagan were married for 16 years and have an 8-month-old son, Bodie Thomas. Thomas was employed at Evonik as a Shift Safety Supervisor.

After graduating from high school Thomas joined the United States Marine Corps. For the majority of his active duty, he and Meagan were stationed in California. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 2011 and returning home to Alabama.

Thomas was an avid outdoor sports enthusiast and a man who enjoyed taking a hands-on approach to life. His passion and love for water is the reason he settled on Dauphin Island. The island life allowed him to thrive on the water, fishing, boating, and becoming a certified diver. When he was not on the water, he loved hunting and spending time in the country. Thomas from a young age was talented mechanically and could repair anything. Thomas was a firearms dealer and had recently obtained an associate’s degree in gunsmithing. He was a natural helper and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. He loved his family and friends and always made sure they were having fun in his presence. Sadly, Thomas only had a short time to enjoy his son Bodie, he made sure to make the most of that special time. From taking him to the hunting camp, walking him on the beach, and sharing his passion for the outdoors. While Thomas left us far too soon, the impact he had on his family and friends will be felt for years to come.

Thomas was preceded in death by his grandparents Harold J. Spikes, Georgina E. Clough, and William R. Clough. He is survived by his wife Meagan Clough; son Bodie Thomas Clough; parents Tom and Lori Clough and Susan and Ron Lee; father and mother in law Roger and Joy Dixon; brother-in-law Nicholas Dixon; siblings Elizabeth Clough, Joshua Clough, Delaney Clough, Heather Roe (Wayne), Heath Lee (Laura Kate), Hunter Lee (Madison); grandmother Shirley Downey Spikes; Aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and many friends.
