David Pearce (1943 – 2016)

Aug. 1, 1943 – Sep. 28, 2016 David Esmond Pearce, age 73, of Mobile, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016. He is survived by the love of his life of 37 years, Diane Pearce; three children, Paige (Curtis) Graf, Danner Pearce, and Amy Pearce; three siblings, Peter Pearce, Mac (Carolyn) Pearce, and Diane (Bob) Collins; six grandchildren, Pearce Graf, Remy Graf, Stephens Graf, Danner Graf, Ben Pearce, and Ema Pearce. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred McIntosh Pearce, and a niece, Robin Stephens. Mr. Pearce was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, where he was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was a graduate of Murphy High School Class of 1962 and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a member of Ashland Place United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, and Junior Achievement. Mr. Pearce served at the JH Ranch, Outback America, the Joseph Project Food Pantry, Stephen Ministry, and numerous boards of his church. He’ll be remembered for his love of Jesus Christ and trusting God’s plan for his life. He was a mentor to everyone he came in contact with. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 3, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at Ashland Place United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Honorary pallbearers include: Lee Wilson, Mac Pearce, Peter Pearce, Bryan Pearce, Curtis Graf, Richard Mann, Mike Ledet, Mike Coley, Mitch Price, Andy Walton, and Wayne McAhren.
