Mobile Section, Alabama AGC Announces 2021 Officers and Directors

Seth Smith,  Vice President of Rolin Construction, Inc. will serve as 2021 president of the Mobile Section, Alabama Associated General Contractors of America, Inc.  Smith succeeds Allan Gustin of Dunn Building Company who will continue to serve as immediate past president.   Rolin Construction, Inc., an Atmore, Alabama based Native American general contracting firm specializing in entertainment, hospitality, commercial, retail and multi-family construction was established in 2005.

Other contractor officers are:  Vice President,  Josh McElhenney – McElhenney Construciton, LLC,  Secretary-Treasurer,  John Whitman – Mobile Asphalt Co., LLC.

Morris King with Vulcan Materials will continue to serve as Associate President for the Mobile Section along with  R. J. Gonzales with Southern Earth Sciences who will also continue to serve as Associate Vice President.

Cory Holcomb with S. J. & L. Civil Contractors will serve as 2021 Chair of the Mobile Section’s Construction Leadership Council  (CLC) succeeding Ben Russell with Coastal Slipform, Inc.  Serving as Vice Chair is Thomas Cotton with Thomas Industries.  Serving as Secretary-Treasurer is Robert McDonough with McElhenney Construction. 

CLC is designed to provide activities and programs to younger professionals within AGC. CLC functions as a venue to network, socialize, learn and exchange ideas about the construction industry.

Originally chartered in 1920, AlabamaAGC is part of a national association whose membership includes general contractors, subcontractors, specialty contractors, material and equipment suppliers, insurance bonding, and financial institutions, engineering firms, law firms and others who supply specialized services to the construction industry. Membership spans all of various industry segments such as Building, Industrial, Heavy and Highway and Municipal utilities.  The principal objectives of AGC are to foster and promote a business climate in which the construction industry may operate successfully while upholding the integrity of the industry and serving the public through community involvement.

AGC also works closely with governmental agencies such as OSHA to provide safety training and environmental awareness programs for contractors.

Charlotte F. Kopf continues to serve as Director of the Mobile office; Carol Harris serves as bookkeeper; and Katherine Vickers serves as Administrative Assistant.
