Mobile Section, AlabamaAGC Installs 2024 Officers & Directors








The Association was honored to have Alabama Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth as the guest speaker for their Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers and Directors Luncheon held January 30th at the Country Club of Mobile with a record crowd of members and guests.  The Lt. Governor discussed Alabama’s plans for workforce development and training.

Chad C. Ammons,
President of Ammons & Blackmon Construction was installed as the 2024 President of Mobile Section, Alabama Associated General Contractors of America, Inc.  Ammons succeeds John Whitman with Mobile Asphalt Co. who will continue to serve as immediate past president.   Ammons is a graduate of the University of South Alabama (Class of ’91)  Business Management).  Ammons is a past president and current board member  of the of the Baldwin County Road Builders Association.

Other 2024 contractor officers are:
Vice President,  R. Wesley Cooke, Jr. – Persons Services Corp.

Secretary-Treasurer,  Timothy N. McInnis, III – McInnis Construction LLC



Gina S. Dalton with WILTEW will serve as Associate President for the Mobile Section.
John E. Murphy, III  with Thompson Engineering, Inc. will serve as Associate Vice President.

Chad Brown with Thompson Engineering, Inc.  will continue to serve as immediate past Associate President and will also serve as AlabamaAGC Associate 1st Vice President, representing Mobile on a statewide level.






Joshua H. Maharrey with BCC Waste Solutions will serve as 2024 Chair of
Mobile Section’s Construction Leadership Council (CLC) succeeding Robert McDonough with McElhenney Construction, LLC.

Serving as Vice Chair is Jay P. Davison with Thompson Engineering, Inc.
and serving as Secretary-Treasurer is Philip P. Parker, Jr. – G. C. Specialties





The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) is designed to provide activities and programs to younger professionals within AGC. CLC functions as a venue to network, socialize, learn and exchange ideas about the construction industry.


Mobile Section is proud to have had two section members leading the AlabamaAGC during 2023.

Robert B. Middleton with Middleton Construction, LLC from Mobile served as 2023 Statewide President for AlabamaAGC.
Middleton will continue to serve as a past president of the Mobile Section Board of Directors.
Middleton is President of Middleton Construction, LLC and a past President of Mobile Section AGC.






Morris King with Vulcan Materials, Inc., – Mobile, served as Associate President of the Statewide Associate Board during 2023 and will continue to serve as Immediate Past Associate President during 2024.

King previously served as Associate President of the Mobile Section, Chairman of Mobile Section’s Bonanza Day Committee and is heavily involved in AlabamaAGC Work Zone Safety Efforts.

During the luncheon Morris and his faithful canine Millie were presented with Mobile Section’s Associate Member of the Year Award, recognizing them for their support for
Work Zone Safety.  Morris and Millie traveled throughout Alabama during 2023 and will continue their travels in 2024 to teach 4th graders about the importance of “No Phones
in the Cone Zone”.

Originally chartered in 1920, AlabamaAGC is part of a statewide and national association whose membership includes general contractors, subcontractors, specialty contractors, material and equipment suppliers, insurance bonding, and financial institutions, engineering firms, law firms and others who supply specialized services to the construction industry. Membership spans all of various industry segments such as Building, Industrial, Heavy and Highway and Municipal utilities.  The principal objectives of AGC are to foster and promote a business climate in which the construction industry may operate successfully while upholding the integrity of the industry and serving the public through community involvement.  Alabama AGC works with elected officials on the local, statewide and national levels on industry issues affecting economic and infrastructure development.

AGC also works closely with governmental agencies such as OSHA to provide safety awareness programs for contractors.

Charlotte F. Kopf continues to serve as Manager of the Mobile office; and Carol Harris as bookkeeper.
