Earlier this year the Young Constructors’ Forum in Birmingham voted to rebrand their YCF as the Construction Leadership Council to align their chapter with National AGC. AGC leadership in Birmingham had asked Mobile to consider doing the same, therefore the Mobile Section, YCF Steering Committee met and voted to also make this change. AGC is excited for the future of the CLC and looks forward to the future leadership that emerges from this group.
Your Vice Chairman Derick Boutwell will be attending the national CLC meeting in Washington DC October 1st and will be reporting back on the best practices of other CLC chapters throughout the nation.
AlabamaAGC will host a statewide CLC meeting on November 1st at our office in Birmingham. ALL YCF/CLC members are invited and encouraged to attend. Invitations are being prepared and will be sent as soon as possible. We hope you will make every effort to attend. Mobile is considering chartering a bus to travel to this meeting, if you are interested in riding the bus, please let us know as soon as possible: staff@agcmobile.org
Our next Mobile Section CLC “Lessons from a Leader” meeting and social will be held Tuesday, October 16th at T. P. Crockmiers in downtown Mobile from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM. Our guest speaker will be Kenny Crow with Crow, Shields, & Bailey. Kenny has been working with a Leadership group with the University of Alabama for a number of years and is pleased to share his thoughts on the value of leadership with our group. Reservations are required so please let us know if you will be able to attend. There is no charge for dinner, but you will be on your own for beverages.
